OUR December meeting was our Christmas party, luckily for us the day was quite mild.

Our guests for this meeting were Millie Stevenson and David Ford.

Both had been wonderful volunteers but due to health reasons had to leave us this year.

A Christmas lunch was served by our volunteers and the crackers were pulled.

After lunch club matters were discussed. Sadly and suddenly one of our members Mrs Dorothy Cohen had passed away; our thoughts are with the family.

Another member Mrs.Audrey Ashby is in the NSRI.

We hope she is feeling better and will soon be back in Leek.

Our entertainment for the afternoon was Abbie and Angela.

Abbie sang and did us some very amusing monologues. Angela accompanied Abbie on the keyboard and we all joined in with Christmas carols to finish.

The raffle, tea and biscuits concluded the meeting.

Our next meeting is on the January 27, 'Chas' a singing group will be coming.

If you would like more information about our social club, please ring Marj Swinson on 01260 227681.

May I take this opportunity to wish all our members and volunteers who work so hard to keep our social club going a very happy and peaceful new year.
