A railing in a car park has been left suspended in mid air after it's supporting wall was damaged.

The wall is situated at the bottom of the Smithfield Centre Car Park, adjacent to Leonard Street, Leek, and serves as a barrier for a walkway onto Haywood Street.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, which has responsibility for the car park, has confirmed that the council is aware of the incident.

She said: "We have attended to make the area safe and costs for repairing the wall are currently being obtained.
