MAJOR attractions in Staffordshire are gearing up for the February half-term break. The holiday, from February 17, can be a grind for parents with sometimes unfavourable weather. However, here are five suggestions for a fun-filled week. For more information visit www.enjoystaffordshire.com/halfterm. 1. Alton Towers Resort It's all happening this year! Escape to the Alton Towers Resort this February half term and meet the stars of Moshi Monsters: The Movie, and enjoy an amazing selection of rides and attractions that will be available. The famous Alton Towers Resort will open its gates from 15th-23rd February for guests to preview a selection of family attractions, along with a range of Moshi Monsters activities.*

New for 2014, look out for CBeebies Land which will be opening in May! £15 each – Park Special. 2. SnowDome This year the SnowDome celebrates its 20th anniversary and what better way to spend your half term than skiing or snowboarding on real powder. With classes ranging from beginner to developer, classes for children, recreational time, a swimming pool, a fitness centre and spa, the SnowDome offers the full package for an action-packed day with just the right amount of relaxation time thrown in too. 3. Drayton Manor Drayton Manor is the perfect place for young families. With Europe's only Thomas Land attraction, along with a 15-acre zoo, the park will be open from Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd February before opening for the main season. Take your little ones to enjoy the thrills and spills of the Thomas Land rides, including Winston's Whistle Stop Tour. For a great place to stay in Staffordshire, the Drayton Manor Hotel even has Thomas the Tank Engine themed rooms. 4. Water World The UK's number one indoor tropical water park will be open every day during half term, staying open right up until 9pm on Fridays when the famous aqua disco takes place. Adrenaline pumping action awaits with slides, a wave pool, hot spa, bubble pool and two restaurants keeping you entertained in a watery world. 5. TrenthamEstate As a special treat the Trentham Estate is keeping its magical ice skating rink open over half term, so you better get your skates on as this will be the last chance to take to the ice this season!

Along with the Monkey Forest, the Trentham Shopping Village, Billy Smart's Circus and the stunning trails around the Estate,

Trentham is a fantastic day out for all the family.

This year also marks Trentham's 10th anniversary following restoration, so don't miss out on visiting the breathtaking grounds. Family tickets from £23. For added value this half term why not purchase a Thrill Hopper ticket from £60, giving you access to the Alton Towers Resort, SnowDome, Drayton Manor Park and Water World.
