The Knockerdown Inn dates from the 17th Century, a traditional 'Olde Worlde' pub set in its own picturesque grounds overlooking Carsington Water.
The present owners have been established here since 1996, and, over the years, their hard work to become 'the' Family Pub, has accumulated an impressive number of awards. These awards, displayed in the restaurant, range from 'UK Family Pub of the Year', 'Children's Food Pub of the Year', 'Country Pub of the Year', 'Garden and Floral Display of the Year' to 'Pub of the Year', not to mention the numerous times they have been finalists in awards that have been nationwide.
This friendly pub has everything the local and visitor could wish for and is open all day in the summer and for lunch and evenings in the winter.
There is a superb restaurant and annexe along with the bar, and the extensive menu serving traditional English dishes caters for most tastes including vegetarians and is complemented by daily 'Specials'. There is a separate Hillbilly Young Diners Menu for the younger visitor.
The many facilities at the Knockerdown include wheelchair access, disabled toilets, highchairs and baby changing room.
Outside are award winning gardens with a large patio and pond area, ample seating and a brilliant children's adventure playground with a separate under 5s area. There are a variety of farm animals on view ranging from an adorable family of donkeys to Black African Ostriches.
In addition there is a large car park with an overflow area for busier days.

My husband and I went here a couple of weekends ago, we were driving past and thought we would pop in for lunch, I am so pleased we did I was impressed the food was lovely and staff even though it was busy as it was a sunny afternoon they managed well and were friendly and helpful. We will be returning soon!!
really lovely place to eat, the staff were all freindly. I thought the quality of the food was fantastice home cooked meals, all our party enjoyed what they had in fact we are returning next time we get a bit of sunshine!!
A group of us went here before Christmas and had the Christmas menu, starters were superb, but the main course, although home cooked, was disappointing, rather dry salmon served without any sauce, and Christmas pudding over microwaved! Although the meal got off to a good start we were disappointed by the main course and pudding.
