A programme of summer concerts has begun at Leek's Brough Park bandstand.

A programme of outdoor summer concerts has been organised for a town's bandstand.

The Friends of Brough Park have organised the musical interludes to take place at the bandstand in Brough Park, Leek, pictured above.

The Cauldon Canal Stompers and the Poynton Brass Bands have already this year performed at the outdoor location during the recent Art in the Park event in Brough Park.

The Friends have also enlisted the following to perform: Delta Brass Cheshire on Sunday, June 8 at 2pm until 4pm; the Stone Brass Band on Sunday July 6 from 2pm until 4pm; and The Ashbourne Town Band on September 7 from 2pm until 4pm. There will also be a band performing at the bandstand on Suunday August 3 - band yet to be confirmed; and the Cauldon Canal Stompers will be back in the park providing musical entertainment for the Leek Half Marathon event on Sunday, August 17.

The Friends of Brough will also be providing refreshments from the Pavilion Cafe from 10am until 1pm on August 17, and also 2pm until 4pm on September 7. There will be 20 minute intervals during each of the concerts which are free to watch.

The programme of summer concerts for 2014 at the Brough Park bandstand has been funded by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. Leek Town Council along with the Friends of Brough Park.
