police officer charged with four counts of misconduct in a public office

A 36-year-old male Staffordshire Police Officer is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday 13 May charged with four counts of misconduct in public office.

The officer has also been charged with three offences under the Data Protection Act.

PC Adam Rushton from North Staffordshire was charged this week as result of a detailed enquiry undertaken by the Staffordshire Police as part of a managed investigation by Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) following a referral to them last year.
