A POPULAR music night is continuing at a town centre pub this weekend with the appearance of a talented local artist.
Mikey Rhead. pictured, will be at The Cock Inn, Derby Street, Leek on Saturday, January 18, evening for the next round of roots-based music at the Joules Brewery owned venue.
Michael (aka Mikey) Rhead is a Leek-based guitar wizard and was one of the talented stars of last years Leek Blues Festival.
For his gig on Saturday, Mikey is set to be joined by sometime collaborator Steve Giddings on guitar and lap steel which means it promises to be a great night of music.
The material, that the lads will be performing, ranges from James Brown to Joni Mitchell, all given the Mikey treatment from one of Leeks finest players and singers.
Mikey and friends will be on stage at The Cock from 9pm on Saturday.
Each of the roots-based music events at The Cock inn on Saturdays see talented acts take to the stage with a range of music from blues, swing, country, old fashioned rock n roll, 70s rock, and folk.
The gigs are free admission and see a rotating cast of guest local musicians and special guests from further afield.
Forthcoming Saturday nights at The Cock will see: Smokin Aces on Saturday, January 25; and Well Travelled on Saturday, February 1.
