A KARAOKE and Skills Auction raising funds for the Haregate Community Centre and Help for Heroes is taking place on Friday, August 23, at 7pm at The Hare and Gate in Queens Drive, Leek.
Lots on offer including: A hand drawn A3 pet portrait from Hoof and Hound; A professional oven deep clean; A wine tasting evening in your own home; A personalised 8 inch celebration cake of your choice; and two adult snowboarding lessons.
On Saturday, August 24, the same venue is holding a Beach Party, with games, entertainment, cocktails and hot food.
Funds raised from this will go to the same causes.
ALTON Castle is to be the venue for an end of tour show on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company, who have been touring the UK and Ireland for over a decade, are to present A Midsummer Night's Dream at 4pm at the idyllic Staffordshire Moorlands location.
The company has been bringing to life some of literature’s best loved classics in magical outdoor performances that are great fun for all the family. BALL Haye Green Sports and Social Club are hosting two performances this weekend.
On Saturday, August 24, is 2nd Time Round, a top vocal/comedy duo. On Sunday, August 25, will be Paul Michaels, a top male vocalist. Weekend entertainment is free of charge.

ON September 12, Leek Twinning will be holding a quiz night.
The proceeds of this will go towards supporting students from Leek High School football team and the Under 17s Leek Rugby Club players in their visit to Este in October this year.
The quiz is to take place at The Central Club Leek starting at 7- 30pm. Quiz master is Eddie Baxter.
The cost will be £5 per head in teams of up to 4 people, refreshment will be included.

A TOWN centre pub will be offering live music this weekend.
The Rock and Roll band of The Penny Dreadfuls will be performing at The Black Swan in Leek on Saturday, August 24, from 9.30pm.
It will be free admission to watch the band at the Sheepmarket publice house.
A PIG race night will be staged to help raise cash for a new community minibus.
The Waterhouses Community Minibus charity event will be staged at the Waterfall Marquee on Saturday, August 24, from 6.30pm.
The evening will include a Tote, barbecue, and music. Participants are invited to take their own drinks along for the evening.
A VILLAGE church will be taking part in a district wide exhibition this weekend.
St Matthew's Church in Meerbrook, near Leek, will be open from Saturday, August 24, until August 31, displaying an array of Altar Frontals.
This display is part of the 'Extraordinary Leek Embroidery Society Exhibition of Textiles, People and Places'.
This event is currently taking place at the Nicholson Museaum and Art Galley in the centre of Leek.
