Residents, partners and businesses have just one week left to vote for the Fire Service Champion’ of 2014 as part of the MORE Awards.
Voting for the awards, which are in their seventh year, closes on Monday, March 31.
During the ceremony a member of staff or a team will be recognised for their outstanding contribution and commitment to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
There are nine categories in total but the winner of the Fire Service Champion accolade will be decided by members of the community.
Chief Fire Officer Peter Dartford said: “The person who wins the coveted title of Fire Service Champion 2014 will have demonstrated a real community spirit or will have gone beyond the call of duty to support people to overcome difficult situations.
“There is just one week left now before voting closes so if someone at the Service, whether they are operational or support staff, has had a positive impact on your life, nominating them would be a great way to recognise their dedication.”
Members of the public can make nominations through the Service’s website at www.staffordshirefire.gov.uk, by collecting a form from their local fire station or by calling 01785 898979 to request a form.
The remaining eight categories are put forward internally, with one of the awards being presented to an external organisation which has assisted the Service through its contribution to fire safety. They include:
· Fire Service Champion (voted by staff)
· Fire Service Champion – Partnership Achievement
· Fire Service Fundraiser Champion
