Only five coaching places left

LEEK Cricket Club have only five places remaining on their Autumn youth coaching programme.

It begins at Leek High School on Saturday, October 25, for a period of eight consecutive weeks.

These sessions are aimed at existing and new members who will playing in the under 9,11 and 13 age groups in 2014.

A similar eight-week course will be run in the post- Christmas period.

The club will be holding its sponsored walk this Saturday to raise funds for its two chosen charities, Springfield and Horton Lodge Special Schools.

There are two walks, one of nine miles and the other just over three miles.

"The club is actively encouraging all players members and friends to come along and raise monies for a very worthwhile project", said Leek chairman Brian Mellor.

The junior presentation evening will be held this Friday at the Club at 7pm for a 7.30pm start All youth members are encouraged to to come along with their parents to celebrate their achievements over the season.

Leek are close to agreeing terms with Nadim Malik for him to return to Highfield for a second season in 2014.

Malik played a major role in helping Leekretain the North Staffs and South Cheshire League Premier Division title.

It is the first time this has been achieved in the club's history
