WORK to repair an “unsafe” wall in Endon is starting soon.
A wall at the top of Brook Lane has been reported as “needing attention” by Endon with Stanley Parish Council.
Originally Staffordshire County Council had said that the wall would only have a watching brief as it was not unsafe and would only be repaired.
But parish council chairman John Sambrook disagreed, saying that his measurements showed that it was unsafe and needed attention.
The church informed him the land behind the wall and the steps do not belong to the church, but is open space which the county council are responsible for maintaining the safety of the wall.
Councillor Keith Shackleton reported information from county council employees on site, indicated that work on the wall will be getting underway soon.
