AFTER a very interesting meeting last month, when we took part in several Tudor Farm activities, with a wonderful group of people, in costume, from Under Whirtle Farm, we carried on the Tudor theme with a visit to Ford Green Hall.
A dashing young man, dressed appropriately in Tudor costume gave us a tour of the old building while telling us the history of the the house and stories behind the contents. This was followed by a very tasty supper.
Members attending the Baton transfer at Rudyard enjoyed the occasion.
Last month's walks were appreciated once again, especially as they included the well-dressing at Ashford-in-the-Water and the summer Solstice at Arber Lowe.
This month the walk is from Barleyford to Dane Bridge.
A number of us are going to Gawsworth Hall to enjoy an open-air performance of Broadway Musicals.
We shall go prepared with our picnic baskets, but thought it a bit excessive taking the champagne and candelabra.
As Leek Show got ever closer we were all madly finishing off our exhibits and hoped everything turns out the way we expected.
We have almost filled our trip to the Lake District, on August 9th, but would welcome a few more to join us.
Our next meeting, on August 11th, will be back at St Luke's church centre and will be a craft workshop run by Jane Clowes again.
These are always very successful and we look forward to it.
Don't forget your flower arrangement in a jam jar for the competition. Visitors or new members are always welcome.
