THERE is a mystery to be solved at RSPB Coombes Valley.

Take a walk in the woods at the reserve in Bradnop and take part in its Wildlife Detective half-term trail every day from Saturday, May 24, to Sunday, June 1, from 10am until 4pm.

When you arrive, you'll be assigned your wildlife mission.

Staff say it will put your skills to the test as you use your map, detective's notebook and sharp eyes to discover and record all of the clues hidden in the woods.

You will need to find all the homes on the map and report which animals you find living there.

If you complete your mission and solve the mystery there will be a prize waiting for you at the end.

Even if you're not a wildlife detective, RSPB Coombes Valley is open every day, with trails of varying lengths through its woodlands and meadows.

No booking is necessary for this event.

The event will cost £3 per child, with 20 per cent off for RSPB members.

For more information visit the reserve website at www.rspb.org.uk/coombesvalley or call the reserve office on 01538 384017.
