FRIDAY DECEMBER 14

Headless - 9pm at The Quiet Woman, St Edward Street, Leek. This week's upfront house, deep and techno music will be presented by Lovebeat (WoNk / Mekanik). Free admission.

Leek Choral Society Christmas Concert - 7.30pm at Trinity Church, Derby Street, Leek. Led by their new musical director new musical director Michael Segaud, the group will entertain with a variety of festive songs and carols.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 15

Discover Leek's Victorian History - 11am meeting at the Tourist Information Centre, Market Place, Leek. Step back in time to discover Leek's Victorian history with local historian, Cathryn Walton. Enjoy this fascinating free insight into the past. Places are limited so reserve a place ahead of the day at the Tourist Information Centre.

Art Exhibition - 10am-4pm at the Nicholson Institute, Stockwell Street, Leek. The Ilam Folk Painting - the story of a village. Running until February 24. Details: www.ilam.org.uk.

Victorian Christmas Markets and Celebrations - 9am until 4pm in Leek town centre. Christmas extravaganza with themed shops, outdoor Fine Food Market, Antiques and Collectables, Artisan Market, cooking demonstrations and live entertainment. Plus a Victorian Magician in the new public realm area in Derby Street.

Victorian Leek Christmas - At the Nicholson Museum and Art Gallery, Stockwell Street, Leek. See a display of toys and children of Christmas past and enjoy a free Victorian Christmas Storytelling event (at 10.30am and 12.30pm). To book a place for the story telling pop in to Leek Tourist Information Centre. Cost: £1 for adults and 50p for children.

Pantomime - 2.30pm and 7.30pm at The Foxlowe Arts Centre, Market Place, Leek. A funny festive treat especially for three to 12 year olds and their grown-ups.
