A CHORAL society will be in full voice next month in aid of a civic leader’s charity fund-raising.
Leek Town Mayor councillor Pam Wood will be hosting a Civic Concert on Friday, March 1.
The musical evening will feature performances by the Leek Choral Society under the new leadership of Michael Segaud.
A varied programme of light hearted entertainment has been devised by Scottish-born Michael for this event which will start at 7.30pm.
Works to be performed include Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Ave Verum, Howard Goodall’s The Lord is My Shepherd, Handel’s Zadok the Priest, Grayston Ives’ Name That Tune, along with a medley from the hit musical Les Miserables, and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.
Proceeds from the Civic Concert will go to the Mayor’s Charity Fund to support local groups and organisations.
