AS PART of a joint community project Moorside High School and the Werrington Young Persons Support Group operates the Silver Surfers, where those of more mature years are taught on a one-to-one basis by Year 9 pupils, who also organise the four-week course which covers Access to the Internet, emailing, PowerPoint and Word Processing.

This is the third year the Silver Surfers has been running and assistant Headteacher Lisa Burke said that she was delighted with the success of the course and the way it opened up the world to those taking part.

The courses are free and bookings for 2014 can be made with Village Life Editor Jean Fryer on 01782 304890.
