HAVE you ever heard or seen a bird in Borough Park or the adjacent Brough Park Fields Nature Reserve and wondered what it was?

Here is your chance to find out. Wendy Birks, local naturalist and volunteer for the Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership, is leading a leisurely walk starting on Sunday, June 15.

Wendy said: "This event is designed for people who would like to learn a bit more about birds that are seen in easily accessible places, such as local parks and wildlife sites on the urban fringe." The walk will start from the entrance to Brough Park Leisure Centre, Fowlchurch Road car park at 9am – look out for the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust pick-up truck. The walk will take those attending into the nature reserve adjacent to the park, which can be muddy, so appropriate footwear and clothing are advisable. If you have them, bring a pair of binoculars.

The walk is free and will last about two hours, though you are not obliged to stay for the whole walk. Toilets are available in the Leisure Centre.
