Weekend of events in Cheadle and district

A HOST of events is taking place in Cheadle and the surrounding area this weekend.

Thursday, June 5 - Cheadle Business Group meeting takes place at 5,45pm at The Swan, Town End, Cheadle.

The group will be discussing development of a Social Media Strategy for Cheadle. The meeting will be open to all, so non-members will be welcome to attend.

A charity Night is taking place at Great Wood Hall in Tean on Saturday, June 7. A superb evening with Mark Clay - The Elvis Experience. Tickets £10 including a fish and chip supper, doors open at 7pm. All proceeds to Douglas Macmillan Hospice and to Louie, a little boy with Cerebral Palsy. Tickets available from Anchor Inn, Teanford, or call Mark Deaville on 07753 322444.

Cheadle Methodist Church will hold a summer fayre on Saturday, June 7, from 10.30am until 1pm at the Methodist Church Hall in Chapel Street. There will be stalls selling toys, books, cakes, toiletries, jewellery, hand-made cards and other fancy goods.

There will be the usual White Elephant stall, a Raffle, a Lucky Dip and Face Painting for the children and a Zumba Demonstration with refreshments including tea and coffee and light lunches.

PC Dave Stubbs, of Cheadle Police, is also holding a surgery from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

A handmade craft and gift fair featuring around 20 stalls is taking place at Cheadle's Guild Hall in Tape Street on Saturday, June 7, from 10am until 4pm. Entry is free.

A summer fete in aid of Checkley Church is taking place at Heath House in Tean on Saturday, June 7, from 12 until 5pm. There will be numerous stalls and entertainment, tours of the Heath House Tower, refreshments and a steam train ride.

A fun day is taking place at The Cross Keys in Tean on Saturday, June 7, from 2pm until 2am. There will be live music, bouncy castle, barbecue, raffles, live auction and a car boot. In addition Barry Beaumont will be having his hair cut off and Joe Bevans will be having his chest waxed. All proceeds to Autism UK.
