SPRING has officially arrived and with hazy sunshine to back it up, the Shining Cliff event was the perfect venue to prepare for the Easter extravaganza known as the Jan Kjellstrom Festival.

Living up to its name Shining Cliff is a steep escarpment, very technical and difficult to traverse.

With the added impediments of brambles and fresh windblown trees, running was going to be a big test of stamina.

Running times proved the point by being longer than normal for the courses and only a few Walton Chasers members managed to make it into the top 10.

On the Brown course Ian Hughes finished in 8th place, while Andy Yeates was in 9th place on the Blue course.

On the Green course John Robinson did better and took 5th place. Finally, on the yellow course June Cairns-Smith finished in 8th place.

Walton Chasers winter training is now on each Tuesday at 7pm at Walton High School gym. See www.walton-chasers.co.uk for details.
