VOTERS in the Staffordshire Moorlands are being asked for their views about the polling stations they use to cast their votes in elections.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council is conducting a review of all polling stations, which will look at the locations chosen and whether venues offer easy access for disabled voters.
Councillor Gill Burton, cabinet member for communities, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people across the Moorlands to vote and that includes ensuring that we choose the best locations and venues for polling stations, and that they are accessible to everyone.
“It’s important that we find out from voters, as the users of these venues, what they think and I’d urge people to get involved and share their views with us.” Details of existing polling stations are available for inspection between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday at Moorlands House in Leek until Friday, December 13.
Electors can share their opinions by emailing elections@ staffsmoorlands.gov.uk or writing to Electoral Services, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek, ST13 6HQ.
They have until 13 December to get in touch.
A consultation meeting will take place on 15 January to consider the findings of the review. It will run from 6.30pm to 8pm in the Dove Room at Moorlands House.
