Leek CSOB Veterans 4 Pointons 1

THE FIRST game to be played on the new turf pitch at Pointon Park, Cheddleton saw a Leek CSOB veterans team gain a comfortable victory against a Pointon's Works XI

The project to bring football to Pointon Park was entrusted to Pointon's director Barney Williams, who showed his skills as a goalkeeper in this historic encounter.

Williams capped a fine performance by pulling off a fine penalty save from Old Boys' Matt Sheldon in the first half.
