A TEA Party to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care will take place at the Cheadle Discovery and Visitor Centre at Lulworth House, High Street, Cheadle, on Friday, June 20, from 10am until 4pm.

People are asked to donate cakes and pastries as well as attending the event, and there will be a teapot competition, whereby people pay £1 to enter their prettiest tea pots, and a raffle.

The event will be supported by Cheadle Fairtrade.

It has been organised by mayoress Cheadle town councillor Margaret Locker, who started this event when she was the town mayor in 2012 for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
