STUDENTS at Leek High School proved they have got talent when, `For one Night Only`, they raised the roof at their Springfield Road school for their annual summer concert.
More than 50 young performers treated parents and friends to an end of term show which helped raise funds for the school’s music department. And staff proved they were game for a laugh when teachers Matt Goodwin and Paul Watts donned their baseball caps and joined in with a rendition of Ant and Dec’s Lets Get Ready to Rumble.
Music teacher Katie Raisbeck, who co-ordinated the show, said: "All the performers have done really well. Standards are very high this year and, best of all, our singers and dancers are brave enough to get up and perform in public and very willing to have a go. In fact they love the opportunity to show off their talent.”
Head of Leek High John Spencer said: "It has been great to see such a huge range of students, from our Year 13s to brand new Year Nine teenagers who have never performed on stage before, all joining in."
