FORMER Painsley College student Adam Peaty, pictured, continues to make waves on the international swimming scene.
The 19-year-old, from Uttoxeter, was in record-breaking form on day two of the Mare Nostrum Tour meeting in Canet, France, last Thursday night.
Peaty laid down a marker for next month's Commonwealth Games by breaking the British 50-metre breaststroke record.
He clocked 27:19 to win gold and set a new Mare Nostrum record ahead of his big date in Glasgow as a member of the England swimming team.
The previous day, Peaty took silver in the 100-metre breaststroke at the Canet meet, ahead of one of his Commonwealth rivals, Scotland's Ross Murdoch, who finished joint fourth.
