Swimmers dive in with top class performances

SWIMMERS from Leek ASC once again pulled out all of the stops at the recent Level 2 Satellites meet held in Macclesfield.

This was the last opportunity for many of the swimmers to achieve times to qualify for the regional age group meets later in the year. Overall, 14 swimmers competed in a total of 89 races, including six finals.

Molly Findler, aged 12, put in amazing performance, swimming in three finals coming first in the 100m freestyle, second in the 100m butterfly and first in 100m backstroke.

She achieved regional times in all three.

Molly also won gold in the 200m breaststroke and silver in 200m butterfly.

Callum Rushan, aged 11, swam a super 400m freestyle, winning gold, and achieving a regional time in the process.

Callum also won gold for 200m backstroke, and bronzes for 100m backstroke and 400m individual medley.

Abbie Hulbert, aged 11, won silver in the 100m butterfly, making it into the final, and won gold for 50m butterfly.

Eden Schiller, aged 11, won silver for 400m individual medley and achieved a regional time in 200m freestyle.

Jensen Hulbert, aged 12, made it to the final of the 100m butterfly, coming third in his age group, reached the final of the 100m freestyle, and achieved a regional time for his 200m individual medley.

Emma Ashley, aged 11, won silver in the 200m butterfly and bronze for 400m individual medley. #

Eleanor Cartlidge, aged 12, achieved silvers in 400m individual medley and 400m freestyle.

Flora Kanan, aged nine, won gold for her 200m freestyle, silvers for the 200m backstroke, 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle, and bronze for her 50m backstroke.

Niall Wilson-Jones, aged 11, was awarded silver in the 50m backstroke.

Coby Capper, aged 10, won bronze in the 50m freestyle, and Emily Braddock, aged 10, won bronze in the 200m individual medley.

Other Leek competitors at the meet were Leo Taylor, Oliver Barlow, and Alesia Sollaku, all of whom achieved personal bests in many of their races.
