Some Cheadle schools will be closed for the forthcoming teachers' strike

Comments (0) HUNDREDS of parents across the Staffordshire Moorlands are gearing up to find alternative arrangements for their children as teachers take industrial action.

The NASUWT and NUT unions have confirmed that, as part of their jointly coordinated campaign to 'Protect Teachers and Defend Education', there will be strike action on Tuesday, October 1, across particular regions including the West Midlands.

Out of the 15 schools we contacted across Cheadle and surrounding villages three said they are to close on Tuesday, two had not made any decision yet, as they were waiting for teachers to notify whether they will strike, while eight are to remain open.

The schools which will be closed in the Cheadle area include Cheadle Academy, Cheadle Primary and Forsbrook Primary.

Painsley Catholic College will be open for students in years nine to 13, but not years seven and eight.
