STEAM train fans can enjoy a big screen outing this week with the free showing of a film devoted to a stretch of the old Knotty line.
Staffordshire Film Archive is screening 'Churnet Valley – Railway And Canal' on Wednesday (January 8) at Stoke Film Theatre.
The digitised feature includes previously lost footage of steam trains travelling along the track from Uttoxeter to Macclesfield.
The show, which starts at 7.45pm, will also include Robert Cartwright's documentary about the railway line and a film about the history and restoration of the Caldon Canal.
It is one of a series of film archive events planned for the New Year.
On Wednesday next week, a film called 'The Cratemaker And The Saggar Maker's Bottom Knocker'' will be shown.
