LEEK Town Ladies under 16s travelled to Wyrley on Tuesday night and came away with a 2-0 win to clinch the County League championship and add to their County Cup success.
A win in the league cup final on May 10 would complete a unique treble for the team.
A poor playing surface at Wyrley prevented Leek from playing their usual free-flowing football.
Nevertheless, they went ahead after just five minutes when Alice Naden, on the edge of the box with her back to goal, managed to play the ball into the path of Elise Skelding to unleash a fierce shot into the roof of the net
Both Kirsty Ryder and Katie Maya made the Wyrley goalkeeper work to stop good shots on goal, while Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley made good interceptions in defence.
Mollie Shaw and Becky Rothwell were combined well on the left and were a real threat.
On 35 minutes, Amber Stanway won the ball in midfield and broke free before unleashing a looping shot into the back of the net.
Chloe Gerrity, Amelia Synowiec and Kayleigh Barnes entered the game during the second half and all played well.
