Staffordshire County Girls Under 16s League

Hednesford United 0 Leek Town 10

ALICE Naden and Katie Maya each bagged a hat-trick in Leek Town's biggest win of the season.

Leek attacked from the off and were a goal up after just five minutes when Lucy Kelsall broke free and unselfishly played in Naden to score.

The same two players combined 10 minutes later when Naden fed Kelsall to make it 2-0.

Hednesford resorted to long-range shots which Leek goalkeeper Hannah Austin dealt with easily, despite the windy conditions.

Elise Skelding ran the length of field on the right to produce a cross which found its way into the net to put Leek further ahead.

Becky Rothwell was also very powerful down the left side and was unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions.

Hednesford had their best spell just before half time and it needed good tackles from Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley to prevent a score. Mollie Shaw worked hard at left back and used her pace to set up Leek attacks.

Maya and Chloe Gerrity were introduced for the second half and both had an immediate influence on the game.

Firstly, Maya played an excellent through ball for Kelsall to net Leek's fourth goal. Then Gerrity won the ball down the left and found Naden to make it 5-0.

Shortly after the restart Ryder won the ball and passed to Maya to score from the edge of the box.

Naden completed her hat-trick after being found by Amelia Synowiec.

In the next Leek attack, Naden put Maya in to score her second and her team's eighth goal.

Isabel Wretham stepped up to fire in Leek's ninth goal from a free kick just outside the box. The best goal was saved until last when Maya weaved past two players to bend in an angled shot from 30 yards out to complete a very impressive second half hat trick.
