TOWN were first with a strike on goal, with Jack Davis forcing keeper Jamie Mason to block with his knees at the foot of the post.

As the game progressed, it was the visitors who started to take the initiative and after 15 minutes, they snatched the lead.

A corner was swung over from the left and Tristen Myatt rose unopposed to head home from close range.

CSOB continued to dominate proceedings without creating any real chances but Town almost grabbed an equaliser when Davis chased a long ball, outpacing the last defender – but Mason did well to block.

The visitors almost doubled their lead when a cross from the right was met by the head of Macca Lewis net only for keeper Tom Porter-Hargreaves to deny him with a fine save.

Some neat passing between Patrick Farrelly and Luke Kosciekowski gave the latter the chance to test keeper Mason but the stopper pulled off a good save.

Kosciekowski went close with a free kick before almost putting Farrelly in with a fine pass that was picked up by Mason.

With Town seeming to be coming back into the game, they were dealt a blow when CSOB broke and Zak Barker grabbed a second for them on the stroke of half time.

CSOB started the second half as they had finished the first, with Barker breaking clear – Town grateful for a brave block by Porter-Hargreaves.

Town pushed forward and eventually reduced the arrears when a Sam Bostock free kick wasn’t cleared and Harry Hitchen lashed the loose ball into the roof of the net.

Bostock tried his luck from distance but his effort lacked accuracy.

CSOB then restored their two-goal cushion with Barker feeding the ball out to the left before racing through to receive the cross and direct the ball home with a glancing header.

Barker almost grabbed his hat-trick but Porter-Hargreaves denied him with a fine save.
