ENDON opening batsman George Sellers, pictured left, will skipper the Staffordshire Youth Development squad on their Caribbean tour next month.
The tour commences with a warm-up against Cornwall, ahead of seven matches against local teams in Barbados and Trinidad.
The squad will have the opportunity to visit the test match venues of Kennington Oval and Queen’s Park Oval.
Former West Indies test stars will be introduced to the boys at a reception thrown by the High Commissioner of Barbados.
Sellers, aged 15, helped Endon first eleven gain promotion from Division Three of the North Staffs and South Cheshire League last summer.
He is an integral part of Staffordshire’s Emerging Players Programme for 2012/13.
A dedicated support team provides an intensive schedule including strength and conditioning, sports psychology and nutrition elements for the players.
Each player will devote five hours per week for the 20-week duration of the programme, possibly leading to a place in the England Development Programme.
