A TERMINALLY-ILL mum has had a milestone birthday celebration a year early.

Karen Webster, was first diagnosed as having brain tumours in March last year. At the time doctors gave her 12 months to live. However, more than a year on and the motherof- two is still battling against her terminal illness which has moved to her spine.

Family and friends congregated at The Hare and Gate pub in Leek to have a '49 + VAT' party for Karen, which had a Cruise Ship theme with a black tie dress code and a captain's table.

Karen's mum Maureen Critchlow said: "Karen had a great Cruise Party for her 49th plus VAT party.
