PLANS to redevelop a factory site have been thrown out by councillors.
Members of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's planning applications committee have refused Cheshire based Renew Land Developments permission to redevelop the former Slimma factory in Leek at a meeting held on Thursday.
The council chamber was packed with residents objecting the proposal which involved 32 affordable houses being constructed on the site which adjoins four streets and a listed building.
Councillor raised concerns over the design of the proposed buildings which they stated were not in keeping with the area and also parking issues.
