A STOKE-ON-TRENT man is being sought by Staffordshire Police in connection with a number of thefts in the north of the county and Cheshire including in Cheadle and Forsbrook.

Martyn Sayer, aged 33 pictured, of St. Michaels Road, Stoke-on-Trent, is suspected of committing over 20 thefts from shops between Friday, September 13 and Monday, November 11 and stealing over £1,500 worth of goods.

The thefts took place at shops in Cheadle, Forsbrook, Milton, Wolstanton, Silverdale and Westbury Park in Newcastle, and the Scholar Green area of Cheshire. Sayer is also suspected of driving while disqualified in Forsbrook, Stoke-on-Trent, on Sunday, September 15, and is wanted for failing to appear at court on two occasions.

It is believed that Sayer could be in the Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle or Moorlands areas where he has extensive connections.

Chief Inspector Clare Riley, Newcastle Borough Local Policing Team Commander, said: “Our officers are carrying out extensive inquiries to trace and arrest Sayer and are appealing for assistance from the public.

“Anyone who knows of his whereabouts should contact Staffordshire Police on 101.

“Alternatively, they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
