RUNNER Anthony Bethell is determined to finish a fund-raising challenge despite badly injuring himself during his first attempt.

The 46-year-old self-employed forester from Leek had to pull out of a 268-mile Montane Spine Race through the Pennines and the Peak District after falling over and badly hurting himself.

He is undergoing physiotherapy and walking on crutches but is adamant that he will complete the challenge as soon as he recovers in a bid to raise £1,072 for Mind.

The mental health charity has helped his mother.

Anthony has decided to go back during the Easter weekend to honour the sponsorship money raised so far.
