Finance staff have given a cash boost to a first responders group.

TSB in Haywood Street, Leek, has donated a total of £338 to Flash and Longnor First Responders.

The money was raised through carrying out a raffle and a book sale in the bank, which is located in The Smithfield Centre.

Branch manager Olivia Wilding said: "We had a raffle for a luxury hamper which was filled with items donated by members of staff.

"In addition, we also held a book sale.

"Once a year we pick a charity, and raise funds for them."

First Responder Marie Frodsham said: "This donation is marvellous as we totally rely on such donations to keep going."

The Flash and Longnor First Responders has been running for almost 15 years.

It was the second such volunteer-run response group to be set up in Staffordshire.

Marie added: "We are all volunteers and at the moment we have three first responders.

"We are desperate for more people to join us as responders and to generally help us keep going."
