A community fun day is set to be bigger and better this year with the addition of several new activities.
Residents' group Action West End in Leek will be hosting it's Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday (September 6).
The event, which is held on the Westwood Road Recreational Grounds in Leek, is set to have the additional activities of a Fun Dog Show sponsored by Dougal's Den, and also a Children's It's A Knockout Competition - the latter being organised by the Leek Lions.
This will be alongside the regular fairground rides, tombola, raffle, a dance display by Haregate Dance Crew, live music from Melv and Bones, a DJ set from Anthemia DJs Nick Shedon and Chrissie B, side stalls, crafts, refreshments, children's fancy dress competition, and a host of charity and community stalls.
A spokesperson for Action West End said: "We have gone bigger and better this year with the addition of the Fun Dog Show and the It's A Knockout Competition. We are also hoping to have Donkey Rides as well as a visit from a retired Police dog at the fun day this year.
"Our event is all about bringing the residents of our community - and from further afield - all together for a fun afternoon.
"We are just now hoping for nice weather which always helps at such events and also for lots of people to come down to the rec to enjoy themselves."
With the motto 'enhancing recreation and play', members of Action West End will also be offering residents, young and old, the chance to have their say about what improvements they would like to see in recreation and play in the west end area of Leek. People will have the opportunity to do this by filling out a survey at the fun day.
Action West End's Family Fun Day, on Saturday (September 6), will run from 1pm until 5pm, with registration for the Fun Dog Show starting at 1pm and judging at 2pm.
