ONE of the most respected musicians on the British folk scene, Ken Nicol, will be appearing at the Red Lion in Cheddleton next Thursday (February 13). Ken is a highly acclaimed musician, singer, songwriter, producer, playwright and composer and has credits on more than 50 albums. He has appeared many times in Leek at the former Swan, either solo or with The Albion Band, as a duo with Ashley Hutchings, founder of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and the Albion Band, and also as a duo with Phil Cool. Ken spent eight years touring the world with Steeleye Span between 2002 and 2010 before leaving to concentrate on his solo and duo work and recently has been appearing at schools in the area with Ashley Hutchings.Doors will open for Folk at the Lion at 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
