Queen's life portrayed

A PERIODIC stage show will be presented at a community centre this weekend.

The one-woman show at Checkley Community Centre will portray the life of Queen Elizabeth I.

The fun history lesson, on Saturday, February 22, has been organised by the Friends of Checkley Church and St Giles Church in Croxden, in conjunction with Tutbury Castle.

Enactor Lesley Smith, Curator of Tutbury Castle and Elizabethan historian, will be taking to the stage to portray the life of Queen Elizabeth 1.

Tickets, which include port and pudding, are priced at £8.50 for adults and £4 for children under the age of 12.

Doors will open for the show at Checkley Community Centre at 7pm for an 8pm start.
