Full details of events in this year's Leek Arts Festival have gone out to thousands of homes.

Every copy of last week's Leek and Cheadle Post & Times – plus its sister titles in Uttoxeter – included a copy of the 2014 Leek Arts Festival programme, which features more than 40 events.

Festival volunteers will be handing out further copies – and Leek Arts Festival balloons – in Leek Market Place at the end of this month and in early May. Acts on offer include 'national treasure' Richard Digance, Celtic folk/rock stars The Roving Crows, Mark Radcliffe and The Foes, Fairport Convention, and The Birmingham Conservatoire Folk Ensemble. Other attractions include an evening of burlesque, a chance to learn to play Tibetan singing bowls, cinema, drama, fine art and photography.

Festival spokesman Phil Edmeades said: "Volunteers on the Festival committee have put in a huge amount of work to organise the programme and we are confident that there's something for everyone this year. No fewer than 23,000 copies of the programme have already gone out across the area so there's really no excuse for anyone to claim they don't know what's on offer.
