A NEW creative exhibition is to be unveiled this weekend.
'A Ceramic Exhibition' by the Northern Potters Association will be launched at the Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek with a special preview event on Friday (January 17).
The event will take place at the Market Place venue from 7pm until 9pm.
Eleven potters will be showcasing their work during the six-week long exhibition. The creative artists include Clive Weake, Hazel Higham, Barbara Chadwick, Gill McMillan, Pat Amies, Sue Harding, Ruth Enstone, Sylvia Glover, Sue Cordingley, Jo Hearn and Bev Jennings.
Foxlowe exhibition co-ordinator Chris Thompson, said: "It promises to be a very interesting exhibition.
"The work is very exciting and varied, sculptural, ornamental and functional ceramics, using a range of clays and glazes and techniques including porcelain, stoneware, terracotta and raku work.
"There will be a programme of demonstrations of ceramics throughout the exhibition, where the potters will come and show how their work has been made.
"Prices of the work are very reasonable, and items can be purchased from the exhibition, therefore the exhibition will be changing as items are sold."
Northern Potters Association have had some successful exhibitions throughout 2013 with some of their members exhibiting at Potfest in Penrith in August.
They also had a very successful exhibition at the Old Parsonage in Didsbury in May and one in Altringham in September/November.
In 2012, the association had an exhibition at the Electric Picture House in Congleton.
Mr Thompson added: "The group is really excited and looking forward to holding their first exhibition in Staffordshire." 'A Ceramic Exhibition' by the Northern Potters Association will run at the Foxlowe Arts Centre until Saturday, March 1.
Opening hours for the gallery are 10am – 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday and Sunday, between 11am – 4pm. For further information about what's on at the arts centre go online to www.foxloweartscentre.org.uk
