Police have named the woman who died following the collision in Baddeley Green, Stoke-on-Trent, on Wednesday. She was Georgina Oakley, aged 18, from the Wellington area of Telford.
Officers issued an update saying: "Sadly Georgina was pronounced dead at the scene of the single vehicle collision on Baddeley Green Lane. The two other occupants of the vehicle, the 23-year-old male driver and a 28-year-old woman, who both live in Stoke-on-Trent, remain at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in a critical condition.
"An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing and we are re-appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw the vehicle travelling beforehand, to come forward. Officers also want to hear from a woman believed to have been with Georgina and the other female occupant of the vehicle in the early hours of the morning. Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 quoting incident 94 of July 23."
