Police make on-going enquiries after two men were threatened by another man in Leonard Street in Leek

POLICE have confirmed that an incident in Leek is still ongoing.

We reported earlier this evening (Monday, September 1) that a Police helicopter had been spotted circling around the roof tops of Leek for a number of hours.

Armed police, along with a police dog, were spotted in Novi Lane in Leek at around 9pm.

Staffordshire Police have confirmed that the incident has involved the deployment of a force helicopter and that enquiries are - as of 11.05pm - still on-going.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were alerted to an incident in Leonard Street in Leek at approximately 7.30pm after two men were threatened by another man.

"Officers carried out a detailed area search which included deploying the police helicopter to the area. Enquiries into the incident are still on going."
