POLICE were called to reports of a disturbance at The Green Man at Bottomhouse in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said officers were called to the premises following reports that a handbag had been stolen. Officers said there was a large party on going at the premises and that a disturbance had taken place over the bag, which was later recovered.

A motorist, who does not want to be named, was picking up a relative following a night out and witnessed the scenes.

He said: "There were rowdy scenes with people half dressed. There were many people shouting and using bad language. The whole thing is tarnishing the area."

The latest incident comes just three weeks after motorists reported seeing naked males climbing through a window on New Year's Day, which police were also called to.
