Police appeal for witnesses after two tankers crash on A50 near Blythe Bridge

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision involving two tankers on the A50 early yesterday morning, April 10.

The collision occurred just before 6.50am on the A50 Eastbound, just after the roundabout with the A521 at Blythe Bridge.

One of the drivers, a 65-year-old man from Talke, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with suspected serious injuries and is in a stable condition.

Following the collision the stretch of the A50 was closed until 1.50pm. As a result routes around the area were also affected.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PC Matt Lovatt at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 81 of April 10.
