Pointon Park in Cheddleton is holding a series of free events

POINTON Park in Cheddleton has put on a series of free events throughout August.

On Monday 18th August at 12 noon Rent-A-Beast is visiting with massive bugs to hold, including hairy spiders, snails and even tarantulas.

On Friday 22nd August there will be a Teddy Bears Picnic from midday to 2pm bring your teddy and get a free personalised certificate.

On Friday 29th August, 11am to 4pm, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is bringing a fire engine and firemen for children to have a go with the siren and hose.

Staffordshire Police will also be on site to give local advice and free security marking for bikes and scooters, with hopefully Trevor the police tractor and a free bouncy castle.

Proposed events waiting for dates to be confirmed include a rugby taster session for children with Craig Wilson, Longton Rugby Head Coach and Director of Rugby and a water pistol fight with The John Pointon and Sons Sports and Recreation Ground Centre manager John in the stocks.
