PLANS for a £500,000 refurbishment at The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice are to be announced at its Annual General Meeting.
The Trentham-based Hospice, which caters for around 180 families from Staffordshire and South Cheshire, has won a grant of £483,000 from the Department of Health’s Capital Grants Programme.
At its AGM on Wednesday, 18th September, the Charity will be outlining how it will spend the money to improve and enhance the time that families spend at the Hospice.
The plans include upgrading the children’s bedrooms and the family accommodation as well as improvements to the building including electrics and insulation, with a new look reception area.
Melanie Williams, Director of Fundraising and PR, said: “The Hospice building is now ten years old so this funding will allow us to prepare for the next ten years and ensure our children and families can get the most out of their time with us.”
The AGM starts at 6.30pm at the new venue of The Britannia Stadium to accommodate the growing attendance.
Refreshments will be served from 6pm.
