A PLANNING application has been submitted by a well known local restaurant for a light industrial building to be used as a wedding venue.

A planning statement, submitted of behalf of the applicant Mohammed Siddique, relates to Thornbury Hall, at Kingsley Holt.

It said: "The application site is vacant apart from a stable block at the eastern end which has not been used for many years and will be demolished.

"The grass area has not been farmed or used for many years.

"The stable block would be demolished and a light industrial timber clad building erected in the north east part of the site.

"The proposal will provide a floor area level of 646 square metres

"The layout is designed to make the most efficient use of the site while ensuring that the character and amenity of the locality is not compromised.

"Appropriate separation distances have been achieved between the new and existing listed building.

"The site will be accessed directly from the main road and car park.

"The public footpath at the side of the driveway will be maintained."

Thornbury Hall is renowned for its Pakistani cuisine.
