AT 5.20pm on Tuesday, April 15, a report was received from an 84 year old male of the theft of his wallet while he sat in his car on Morrisons car park in Burton Street Leek.

He was targeted by a woman who put her head and arms through the car window asking for change.

When she had gone he discovered that his wallet containing £150 in cash had been stolen from his jacket pocket.

She is described as being of Asian appearance, 40 to 50 years of age, 5ft 4in tall, medium build with black hair.

Ken Rickard, Neighbourhood Watch Manager, said: “We have no description of the clothing she was wearing.

“These thieves are well schooled in stealing from the person so be aware of people in this sort of situation.

“If you suspect that you or another is being targeted report the matter immediately to the police or store personnel.”
