Pianist pays his first visit

A YOUNG pianist will be the star of the next show hosted by an arts society.

Andrew Tyson will play at Abbotsholme School, near Uttoxeter next Wednesday, October 23, at 8pm.

It will be Andrew's first visit to Abbotsholme and he has chosen to play an all Chopin programme.

Andrew took part in the 2012 Leeds International Piano Competition where he won the Terence Judd-Halle Orchestra Prize which is awarded by the Orchestra’s musicians.

Andrew's programme for the Abbotsholme evening will include: Chopin - Three Mazurkas -No 1in A minor, No2 in A flat major, No 3 in F sharp major; Barcarolle in F sharp major Op.60; Three Waltzes Op.64 No1 in D flat major 'Minute', No 2 in C sharp minor No.3 in A flat major; Polonaise in A flat major Op.53 (Heroic); Impromptu No 3 in G flat major Op.51; and Sonata No 3 in B minor Op.58.

Tickets for the concert are priced at £16 (£5 for under 25s) and are available by calling the society's box office on 01543 263304.
